Sterile theatres

Our practice has three sterile theatres at Bishop Auckland and one at Newton Aycliffe.

All the theatres are well provisioned with v-top stainless steel operating tables, mobile instrument trolleys and very good lighting.

Our veterinary surgeons perform a wide variety of operations, ranging from routine neutering, stitching up wounds and caesareans, right through to orthopaedic operations.

We use Isofluorane as our volatile anaesthetic and induce with either propofol or alfaxan that is extremely safe and allows patients to recover very quickly after their operation. During the anaesthetics we routinely monitor your pet very closely and have access to capnography in all operating theatres.

Information on the use of Alfaxan is listed below, the other products are generically available and a wide range of information is available on the internet.
